Game highlights

A really good game with only a couple of Rebels hits separating the two sides. Both teams got off to good starts with Rebels taking a 7-6 lead into the 3rd before both defences started to take over. Megan had a really good game on 2B and Dom at short took a couple of really good catches stopping some good strikes over the middle.

Fiona and Steve R linked up well to get some key outs which was required to stop some good Knights base running all evening. Some quick thinking from Fiona after a catch got a double play on 2B. Steve R took a very well struck line drive to the glove and still managed to get the out a 1B with a dislocated finger (thanks to Chris for putting it back in!). After a short break and an ice pack Steve R opened the batting, scored a run and continued in the field taking a couple of strikeouts and grabbed a rocket jumping to his left in the very next inning which his finger was not thankful for!

The two teams continued to keep the runs ticking over and Rebels took a 9 run lead into the bottom of 7. A couple of early runs and a 2 run homer from Dom gave the Knights 5 but Rebels managed to close the game out with another Steve R to Fiona link up.

There were plenty of doubles from both teams. Chris, Grace and Katie punished the Rebels infield all night and Joshua hit his first (RBI) triple for the Rebels with a slide into 3rd. James (2), David and Dom all hit HRs. All in all a game as good as the scoreline suggests with both sides keeping things tight on a difficult evening out in the field.
