Mavericks @ Rebels

Game highlights

The Mavericks started strong with an early lead and consistent hitting. Two incredible catches by the Mavericks’ Monique and Bertie earned them the title of MVP.  The Mavericks defence continued to hold the Rebels with a number of solid infield plays. The Rebels picked up their bats late in the game with home runs from James, Chris and David (on debut after not picking up a glove or a bat all year) but the Mavericks were able to hold on for the win despite the late surge of the Rebels.

Angels @ Knights

Game highlights

It was a difficult evening for batting with the ball seeming to appear out of the sun. Knights held the Angels close at the beginning due to some good outfield catches and an aggressive defensive alignment (it was 4-4 after 3). Angels started to find holes and stretched out the lead in the following innings, only for the Knights to put up a storming effort in the 7th with 13 runs! Babs stopped everything at 1st for the Angels and Pete had a diving stop at 3rd which helped to limit the damage in the 7th inning.

Most Valuable Players

Knights – Grace and Matt
Angels – Babs and Pete
