Both teams performed well defensively, especially the combination of Kathleen McCallen and Adora Jones at shortstop and third base for the Tigers. Rounding off the solid infield play by the Tigers was Matt Whittle at first base. For the Beavers, third baseman Alejandro Dodero connected with Abi Winnett for a number of outs. It looked like the Tigers were running away with scoreline until the Beavers’ Irvin Tapia hit a grand slam to bring the score closer.
